Classic A this week grasps on to the lasts breathes of autumn. Hearty “Safari Sunset” leucadendron is a leafy, conical flower characterized by green leaves tinged wine red on red stems. Deep in the Sao Paolo region of Brazil is a sweet farm with incredibly beautiful and unique upright pepperberry. While the red and green berries are the star on this stem, the shiny green and gray foliage is no strain on the eyes either. Lightening up this bundle are Ecuadorian “Versilia” roses; a very large headed pale peach rose that opens slowly into an exceptional cup-shaped bloom. Rounding out this bundle are the consistent, wide-opening red “Mikado” spray roses from our source in Bogota.
Classic B this week brings back subtle feelings of summer. This week’s agapanthus flowers are eye-catching with their rare blue tones and many star shaped blooms. These particular stems are grown on an eco-friendly farm in Costa Rica that promotes fair labor practices. Each of the perky lime green “Spider” chrysanthemums are actually a cluster of many flowers, composed of a central group of short disk flowers surrounded by rings of longer ray flowers. Green “Jade” trachelium, the broccoli look-alike, got its name from the Greek word trachelos, meaning "neck," a reference to its alleged ability to alleviate throat diseases. We’ve also included the popular creamy white “Vendela” roses.
This week’s Exotic C bouquet will make a great conversation piece at your Thanksgiving get-together. Peachy-brown cymbidium orchid blooms are always an elegant crowd pleaser, particularly appropriate for your Thanksgiving feast being that their name derives from the Greek word kymbe, meaning "boat," and refers to the blooms' hollowed lips. The Peruvian bright orange pin cushions protea symbolize diversity and courage. Nothing says autumn more than the prized magnolia foliage with it’s dark green leaves which are lustrous on one size, and velvety reddish-brown on the flipside. Adding a feast for the eyes is gorgeous Brazilian pepperberry and pale peach “Versilia” roses.
The Exotic D bundle is inspired by cool greens. “Liberty” orchids found in Samutsakon, Thailand and are a unique variety that features pale green petals with a white stripe down the center of the blooms. “Silver Tree” leucadendron is harvested from beautiful trees that grow wildon the slopes of Table Mountain, South Africa. It gets its name from its curious silver sheen, caused by abundant fine, satiny hairs covering the grey-green leaves and giving them a soft, velvety feel. Green antique hydrangea with red tips are a unique variety out of Holland that require extremely precise acidity and alkalinity levels of the soil it is grown in. Also included in this bundle are the eco-friendly Costa Rican blue agapanthus and white “Vendela” roses.
As requested by popular demand, we will now take a glimpse into both our "Contemporary" and "Tall" product lines. Our contemporary product line keeps the focus on two or three beautiful floral varieties in monochromatic color schemes. We also group these flowers by variety so that each type has a chance to stand out on its own. This week’s contemporary collection jumps right into the holiday spirit. Deep red velvety “Black Magic” roses are one of the original “black” roses on the market. Although considered to be one of the darkest roses in production, Black Magic is actually a lovely crimson red with deeper darker maroon edges. Red cymbidium orchid blossoms normally come to us from Thailand or New Zealand, but right now we actually find the highest quality produced out of Holland. These red cymbidiums have almost pinkish undertones and in Asian cultures it is considered an honor to give or receive the cymbidium as a gift. Finally, our Dutch antique hydrangea features green florets highlighted with maroon tips. Although each individual hydrangea flower is relatively small. the display of color on each stem is enhanced by a ring of modified bracts around each flower.

Start by liberating your bundle from its cello wrapper (taking care to drain the reservoir first), line the included vase with the aspidistra leaf, and then give your bundle a good amount of room temperature water to drink. Done and done!
Tall customers this week were treated to a very delicate and beautiful orchid – the oncidium. Also known as “Dancing Lady Orchids,” or “Butterfly Orchids” most oncidiums are found in sprays, with dozens of delicate florets that are 1 to 1.5 inches across blooming along a central branching stem. These beautiful specimens come to us from Bangkok from a farm that has been owned and operated by a family of Thai natives for over 50 years. Enjoy beauty and grace as the orchids stems both stand tall and drape over the sides of the vase.
For new tall collection customers, your first order will arrive ready to display in a glass cylinder vase. Future deliveries for this collection arrive packed neatly in a bouquet box, with either water tubes or a cushioned water pack, to keep your stems as fresh as possible. When you receive your H. Bloom bouquet box, unpack the flowers and remove the water source at the bottom of the stems, fill your vase with fresh water and a flower food packet, and drop the stems right in!
