Weekly Collection Inspiration: Vineyard Harvest

This week’s subscription collection transports us to a vineyard at the peak of harvest. Our floral collections this week embrace deep purples, burgundies, and pops of autumnal orange.

The sultry purples and burgundies of this classic collection emulate the deep colors present in a vineyard’s harvest. Lavender roses blossom from the bouquet as grapes from the vine. Dark purple trachelium and burgundy Sweet William represent post-harvest crushed berries. Each element of the bouquet combines to create lush opulence and elegance.
$35 per week

This classic collection embodies a harvest moon peeking out from the night sky. Bright bursts of orange roses compare in shape and color to the soft orange glow that emanates from an autumn night sky. Burgundy scabiosa and mango tango lilies emerge as the clear stars of the arrangement. Both unique varietals bring the dark night sky into full force; the dark velvety petals of burgundy scabiosa bring texture to the smooth surfaces of the other blooms. Mango tango lilies pop open with accents of spilled wine seeping from each bittersweet petal.
$35 per week

Flirty simplicity best describes this contemporary bouquet. Rich purple alstroemeria creates the base for a stunning display of purple mokara orchids. This monochromatic display is accented with folded fatsia leaves, each forcefully framing the exhibit.
$48 per week

A searing thrust of burgundy anthurium carves its way through an otherwise simple bouquet. Just as workers harvest the vineyard’s fruits with small hooks, each spadix of the anthurium’s blooms cuts through docile lavender roses. Burgundy scabiosa clusters as small grapes near the arrangement’s base awaiting their certain fate.
$48 per week

Texture abounds in this exotic collection! A bold fatsia leaf mirrors the dissected leaves of Vitis foliage and beautifully frames the burgundy anthurium spathes. Anthurium are grouped to form a cluster just as the grapes in a vineyard cling together along the vine. Beneath the exotic blooms are an array of orange and burgundy blossoms tangled together in a patchwork effect. Orange roses, berzelia, and burgundy Sweet William form the components of this harvest bouquet.
$65 per week

A vineyard harvest collection wouldn’t be complete without a merlot themed bouquet. This arrangement pours forth from its vase with burgundy scabiosa blooms. The small buds from this varietal drift forward from a generous display of burgundy and purple orchids. Cymbidium and aranda orchids emerge from lavender roses creating a truly extravagant piece.

DIY Floral Headpieces

Wearing a headpiece should not be reserved for your wedding day alone. A floral
headpiece can be a fun way to accent an outfit, perk up a party, or accessorize a
costume. Fresh floral headpieces smell wonderful and are an easy way to recycle
leftover flowers. At our last H.Bloom photo shoot we scavenged some of our excess
floral to create unique accessories without breaking our budget.

To create an impressive headpiece you only need a few tools: a spool of floral wire, a
pair of pruners, bobby pins, and a few fresh blooms.

1. To secure your blooms, first take a small measure of wire and pierce each stem
through its center near the junction of the stem and blossom.

2. Then pull the wire through the tiny hole until equal parts of wire are on either side of
the insertion.

3. Next carefully pull down the ends so that each section of wire is parallel to the stem.

4. Finally twist the wires around the stem’s base and you will have a secure bloom.

Note: For more woody stems that are hard to pierce, wire can be bent around a lateral at the base of the bloom and then twisted around the stem.

These wired blossoms can then be combined and wired together to create a small
grouping of blooms and greenery perfect for a statement accessory. Once the floral is
wired together, bobby pins can be secured through the wires and a small leaf can be
wrapped around any exposed ends.

Be sure to test this fun trick out with your next Arrange Your Own collection or with
flowers you find around your garden.

Weekly Collection Inspiration: Greek Gods & Goddesses

This week’s subscription collection takes us into the world of power, virtue, and courage through the exploration of Greek gods and goddesses. Each bouquet is interspersed with elements of decadent, rich varietals offset by light, natural touches.

Green tea roses are entwined by English ivy in this Classic Collection bouquet. The ivy accents mimic wreathes worn by Greek gods and goddesses creating a halo around the delicate mini green hydrangea and bold purple matsumoto aster. This luxurious combination of green and purple varietals is fit for Greek royalty and is the perfect way to add a decadent touch to the home.
$35 per week

The natural hues of this traditional arrangement pull from some of our favorite Grecian oil paintings. Dusty terracotta colored roses exert brute force on the tranquil white bouvardia introducing a bold contrast to the piece. Green hypericum berries and crisp salal tips serve as the backdrop for our Grecian paining, allowing the natural tones of wheat and terracotta to blossom clearly into view.
$35 per week

Artfully grouped varietals swirl through this Contemporary Collection bouquet. Silver brunia wisps softly from the symmetrical composition and offsets the otherwise monochromatic nature of the arrangement. Green tea roses, green hypericum, and english ivy complete the chic modern bouquet.
$48 per week

Dazzling yet dangerous, this Contemporary Collection arrangement petrifies any opponent. The modern placement of a spear-shaped anthurium leaf offsets a mosaic grouping of spirited varietals. Terracotta roses, blue bell eryngium, and blue agapanthus compose the contrasting mixture, catching the attention of all passers-by.
$48 per week

A triumphant grouping of white cymbidium orchids rises victoriously from this Exotic Collection bouquet. These sweetly scented orchids are paired with pops of white bouvardia that introduce whimsy and excitement to a soft palette. Mini green hydrangea slightly offsets its white suitors, while an entanglement of green ivy protects the arrangement’s exotic blooms from any foreign threats.
$65 per week

This passionate Exotic Collection bouquet emulates the desire and perils of a Gretian saga. Brilliant Dutch hydrangea and valiant eryngium burst from a world long forgotten, while hanging amaranthus lustfully cascades from the vase’s restraints. The intricate combination of exotic silver brunia and blue bell thistle attracts the viewer in yet warns of dangerous consequences should the eye draw too close.
