H.Bloom designer, Hannah D’Ottavio, gives a detailed tutorial on how to work with the flowers in H.Bloom’s Arrange Your Own collection. Varietals in the June 17 collection include queen anne’s lace, tulips, scabiosa, liatris, palm leaves and aspidistra leaves.

This week’s subscription collection honors Atlanta, Georgia, home of our newest H.Bloom market. Our Southern Charm themed bouquets are filled with warm shades of purples and pinks, with varietals like dark pink anthurium, purple calla lilies, purple hydrangea, and mini white cymbid orchids. Other varietals to look out for include hot pink tulips and ranunculus, cream roses, and riceflower. Let the beautiful colors and fragrances of this week’s collection give you a taste of southern hospitality regardless of where you might live.

Happy Friday! It’s been a great week for us here at H.Bloom — our Boston market has launched and we are really getting Summer in Bloom rolling with our Atlanta market opening next week! We had a great time in Boston. Now we’re off to Atlanta for our next opening!

1. First up is the newest father (of three weeks) here at H.Bloom. With a simple request of a nice bottle for brandy and box of cigars, we think there’s no better way to help him celebrate his very first Father’s Day.

2. Our next dad asked for the Greatest Sweatshirt Ever Made, as well as a new pair of the classic Onitsuka Tiger Sneakers. “All of my suggestions marry fashion and function,” and we couldn’t agree more.

3. Does Dad have a fond appreciation for craft beer? While grabbing him his favorite six pack will always be a delight, one of our H.Bloom fathers suggested this Breweries of the United States Poster. No man cave? Take it out of the house with this Craft Beer Tasting Sail. Boats and Beers? We’re on board. Pun intended.

4. Women aren’t the only ones who are after some wrist candy. Our COO indulged us and suggested a new pair cuff links, or even a new diving watch from Oris.

5. Our final H.Bloom dad of the day and CEO warmed our hearts with his one request. “I just want a barbecue with my wife and kids.” Simply precious. While we recommend surprising dad with a new set of toys for the grill, we’ll leave the menu up to you.

This week we’re gearing up for the start of summer with punchy colors that can’t help but make us feel cheery. Varietals like hot pink hydrangea and orange celosia intertwine with blue agapanthus and veronica. Also be on the lookout for fuschia dahlias, dark pink and orange cymbid orchids, and hot pink matsumoto asters.

Since starting H.Bloom in April of 2010, we have grown to serve customers in five cities around the country: New York City, Washington DC, Chicago, San Francisco and Dallas. Today, I am excited to announce our ambitious expansion plans. Over the summer, we will be opening H.Bloom operations in Boston, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Miami.

We know we still have plenty of work to do in our current markets to live up to our corporate value – “Each delivery is the only delivery.” We consider ourselves fortunate to have the chance to hand-deliver flower arrangements that bring joy to our corporate and consumer customers each day, and we are hard at work to make the experience consistently delightful. We are investing heavily in software development, training and process-optimization to make sure that each arrangement is exquisite, and that each delivery is on time. Please let us know if there are other things we can do to improve.

While we are expanding our geographic reach, we have also added to the breadth of our offerings. We started H.Bloom with a heavy emphasis on corporate and consumer subscriptions. Today, in addition to these consistent delivery services, we offer one-time gifts, plant installation and maintenance, weddings, and events.

We are extremely excited about our future growth, but humbled by your continued support. We aspire to become the world’s first luxury floral brand, and we know we can’t do it without your help.
