No Peonies, No Problem!
As a florist, one of our most frequently asked questions is “Are peonies available?” We wish! However, peonies are typically only in season between the months of May and July. During this time, you can find an abundance of peonies in every color, and size at a reasonable price. We’ve compiled our top 3 fabulous alternatives to peonies to give you a similar vibe and feel you are looking for. Be on the lookout for these varietals as great substitutions to peonies.
1. Garden roses
Often mistaken for peonies, garden roses are the closest you can get! These lush blooms with compact petals are the perfect dupe. They stand out from other types of roses with their soft and elegant appeal. Our favorite varietals of garden roses are Patience, White Cloud, and O’Hara that all come in light color tones perfect for any occasion.

2. Ranunculus
These soft, feminine, and vibrant blooms are another fan-favorite substitution for peonies. Available year-round, ranunculus flowers are perfect for Mother Day’s, anniversaries, or just a little self-love. They are known to symbolize charm and a sign of admiration. Ask for ranunculus in your favorite color the next time you are placing a custom order to add a personal touch to the design.

3. Dahlias
Dahlia season is almost here! Widely available in the fall, dahlias peak when other summer blooms are past their prime. They come in every color (except blue) which makes them a great option for any occasion.
